The hiking trails at Anastasia State Park meander through miles of ancient dunes and shaded maritime hammocks. You can also explore up to four miles of shoreline, making for a fun-filled afternoon of exploring.
Anastasia State Park fishing is one of the best ways to cast the line in St. Augustine! The fishing area on Salt Run features everything you’ll need for a successful day of “reeling em’ in” including a fish identification kiosk, a fish cleaning station, and a monofilament disposal bin. Many fishermen also find the north end of the park to be quite plentiful!
Please keep in mind that fishermen in Anastasia State Park must adhere to the seasonal rules and a Florida Fishing License may be required.

As stated before, Anastasia State Park is a gold mine for local wildlife. Many visitors come here just to observe the numerous species of birds and other animals that call the park home. The Coquina Quarry is Anastasia State Park’s own historic site and has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The archeological site was mined hundreds of years ago, and the coquina rock collected here was used to build the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine!
